On Sunday July 11, fourteen members of South County House #1 took a tour on the Blackstone Valley Explorer, to visit the Blackstone River.

This is the only riverboat on the river, and the group discovered the industrial past of what was once called “America’s Hardest Working River”. They learned about the river’s ecosystem and its present restoration projects.

South County House #1 provided air cooled transportation in a fourteen passenger van. Refreshments were served on the way home.

A good time was had by all.

We’re waiting.

The proud Blackstone Valley Explorer

Great time. The guide was very knowledgeable and even though this was the her last tour of the day she was very patient with her group of seniors.
